Abstract

277,055. Lindholm, H. V. F. May 14, 1926. Cutting slices in succession.-A machine for slicing foodstuffs comprises a frame, a food support adjustable, for slice-thickness regulation, on the frame by a screw and nut, a depressible abutment plate carried by the support, upright knife-guides on the frame, knife-engaging blocks slidable in the guides, arms projecting from the blocks, means for suspending the abutment plate from the arms, and guides for the plate extending above and below the support. The food support 1<a> is slidably adjustable in guides 1<b> in the base framework by a screw 13 and handle 14. The knife 3 is recessed to engage blocks 2 which are slidable in vertical guides 4, the knife being thus free to move vertically or longitudinally. The blocks 2 have projecting arms 12 slidable in a depending member 11 to which is attached a vertical fence or abutment plate 9 slidable in guides 8 secured to the support 1<a> and extending above aud below it. The plate 9 is strengthened by flanging. With this arrangement the fence 9 is adjustable for the required slice thickness by the screw 13, and partakes of the vertical movements of the knife.
