Abstract

264,427. Herzmann, M. Oct. 5, 1926. Cutting and slicing fruit &c.-The fruit or the like is cut into vertical slices by being pressed upon knives B extending across an opening in a frame A. A slide C is adapted to be reciprocated in guides a<1> on the frame A below the knives B and is provided with removable metal strips carrying vertical knives c<3>, these strips being fitted on both sides of an opening c<2> in the slide. A flat blade D is supported over and at a little distance above the opening c<2>. By reciprocating the slide C the strips of fruit passing between the krives B are cut vertically by the knives c<3> and then horizontally by the blade D. The knives c<3> may be removed if strips of fruit are desired and if slices are desired the knives B also detached.
