Abstract

Cutting slices in succession. - In a slicing.. device wherein an ordinary hand-knife is employed, a channel D is provided between the supporting-table A<2> and the bridge-piece A<4> of sufficient depth to allow the knife to pass completely through the foodstuff. the severed slice being ejected by raising the knife suddenly against its lower edge. A receptacle may be provided to receive the ejected slices. The knife is guided between vertical U-shaped guides B, B<2>, and a rubber buffer situated at the bottom of the channel D protects the knife-edge. The foodstuff is guided between the plate A<3> and a adjustable rail' C, or the plate A<3> only may be used. The adjustable stop E may be provided with a recessed face, which lessens the tendency of the knife to bind, and may be inclined to throw the lower edge of the slice over the channel D. The face of the stop E may be formed by a. U-shaped rod, and the bridge-piece A is recessed at A<6> to receive the stop E, a gap A<5> being provided for the removal of crumbs.
