Vacuum tubes. - The mounting of a, filament is effected by means of a centring frame consisting of two side pieces 3, Fig. 2, and end pieces 5 with axial tongues 1 to which the filament 7 is welded. The frame carrying the filament is inserted in a grid 8, Fig. 3, the tongues are soldered to supports 9, 10, the frame is severed at the parts A-B, C-D, and the side pieces removed. The lower supports for the electrodes are mounted in a seal and the upper supports are spaced by a glass bead. The frame may be stamped from a sheet of tungsten, molybdenum or nickel, and the stamping and soldering mav be done automatically. Two sets of electrodes may be mounted in a bulb.
