Abstract

528,458. Discharge apparatus. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd. April 28, 1939, No. 12819. Convention date, April 29, 1938. [Class 39 (i)] An electron discharge tube comprises a cylindrical metal anode 1, closed at its ends by glass bulbs 2, 3, a screen grid 5 control grid and cathode 7. The electrodes are concentric and consist of a plurality of wires arranged on a cylindrical surface concentric with the anode. The screen grid wires are attached at opposite ends to support members 8, 9, the former of which is secured as by welding to a ring 10 sealed through the glass bulb 2. The other member 9 has a radial flange 12 which is supported on a ring 11 sealed through the bulb 3 by flat springs 13, which may be tongues stamped out of the flange 12. The rings 10, 11 may form the lead-in for the screen-grid.
