Abstract
267,853. Remondy, L. E. Oct. 8, 1926, [Convention date]. Projectile fuzes.-Relates to sensitive percussion fuzes A, C acting by the combined action of momentum and direct impact as described in Specification 172,326, and consists in covering the chamber containing the fuze by a perforated cap G, which prevents premature accidental operation of the fuze by branches or other like screens near the gun, but allows earth, sand, or other soft material to penetrate and operate the fuze on impact with such soft targets, and is crushed if the target is a strong one. The cap G may be integral with the nose E of the fuze body, or may be clinched or screwed thereto.
