Abstract
220,324. Pantoflicek, B. Aug. 8, 1923, [Convention date]. Projectile fuzes.-A bomb 5 is provided with a detachable rigid or flexible tube 2 connected to a percussion fuze 1 and adapted to transmit ignition to the charge of the bomb through a cap 4 forming the nose of the bomb, so that the bomb explodes at a certain height above ground. This height may be varied, for example, when the tube 2 is flexible, by connecting the percussion fuze 1 to the bomb by a cord of the length desired. The tube 2, when flexible, may also be coiled in a socket from which it is released when the bomb is dropped. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) also states that the ignition may be conveyed directly from the fuze to the explosive charge of the bomb. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
