202,176. Nichols, H. J. Aug. 29, 1922. Projectiles are loaded with a dye, pigment, or other non-combustible colouring-material 8, and with an explosive charge 7, which, when fired, for example by a percussion fuze 6, expels the pigment and thereby gives a visual indication of the hit. The colour of the visual indication serves to distinguish one projectile from another.
