Abstract

349,839. Projectiles. NABL, A., 11, Christallinggasse, Baden, near Vienna. July 29, 1930, No. 22814. [Class 9 (i).] A tracer projectile carries a plurality of charges adapted to produce differently coloured flames and to come successively into operation. As shown, the projectile contains flaine-producing charges a, b, of which the outer charge b may form a protection for the inner charge a, which latter may be composed of chemicals more sensitive to moisture. The charge b may be composed of material capable of being ignited by the firing of the shot and be protected by a piece of lacquered tinfoil d or the like. On firing, the tinfoil collapses into a cavity c at the base of the charge b. The colours of the flames emitted by the charges a, b are preferably complementary to each other. The projectile may contain more than two charges. The compositions a, b are of the nature commonly used in coloured fireworks.
