Abstract

619,757. Automatic guns. GABLER, J., and GRAYBLER CORPORATION (ENGLAND), Ltd. Dec. 12, 1940, No. 17614. Addition to 619,665 and 619,756. [Class 92 (ii)] Relates to belt-fed automatic guns in which shells x are fired by an explosive gaseous charge as in the parent Specification and having twin barrels 1 with conjugated loading plungers 8 as in Specification 619,756. According to the present invention, instead of using electric sparking-plugs, the firing is effected by incandescent filaments, pilot flames, or like simple ignition means A. In the form shown, the ignition openings 3 leading to the firing chambers 2 are only uncovered by the loading plungers when these reach the firing position.
