Abstract

Pulverulent-fuel furnaces. - The floor of the combustion chamber of a pulverulent-fuel furnace comprises a number of parallel air-heating ducts arranged from back to front or from side to side formed by spigoted and socketted tubular bricks d, Figs. 1 and 2. The ducts are connected by extensions f to a common passage or chamber g communicating with the intale h of a fan which delivers the heated air to the burners of the furnace for secondary combustion. If desired the passage g may be disposed below the floor and the air-heating ducts may be covered by tiles.
