Abstract

450,215. Oven stoves. STYLES, W. ELLERD-, 68, Colebrooko Row, Islington Green, London. Jan. 8, 1935, No. 638. [Class 126] [See also Group XII] An oven for baking, roasting, and drying is provided, adjacent the back plate 3 at the upper part thereof, with two side-by-side waste gas outlets 2, 8 controlled by a single damper 10, the former communicating with a downtake flue 4 which discharges at its lower end 6 into the stack flue 5 and the latter with a byepass flue 9 leading directly to the stack. The damper 10 is so constructed that when it closes one outlet the other is open, this arrangement permitting the use of the outlet 8 during heating up and the outlet 2 after the desired oven temperature has been attained. The stack 5 is fitted, above the byepass 9, with a cowl 12 having openings for the entry of air. Figs. 4 and 5 show a modification in which the outlets and flue connections are formed in castings seated on the top 16 of the oven, the outlet 18 communicating directly with the stack 22 through the byepass 27 and the outlet 19 with horizontal ducts 20 which lead to two downtake flues 21 delivering at their lower ends into the stack flue 22.
