Abstract

Bakers' ovens.-In a steam-pipe oven, an adjustable baffle or deflector c is arranged between the groups of tube-ends in the furnace, and a by-pass flue d is provided, so that the heating-gases may be diverted from the upper group of tubes when desired. The baffle c serves also as a damper to control the by-pass. In a modified construction, the by-pass flue opens at the side of the main flue, and a wing on the deflector acts as the damper. In a further modification, the combined deflector and damper is arranged to slide across the main flue. The damper may also be independent of the deflector.
