Abstract

258,652. New Eccles Rubber Works, Ltd., and Cox, S. W. June 23, 1925. Butt joints with sleeves.-A joint between two pipes 4, 4 is secured by pressing the pipe ends against a rubber packing ring 7 secured between two metal rings 5, 6, the necessary pressure being applied by a two-part enclosing housing 9, 10, bolted together and internally shaped to co-operate with flanges 13 on the pipe ends to force them towards one another. A modified form of jointing ring, Fig. 3, comprises a metal ring of H-section and two rubber rings 15.
