241,956. Pelich, E. Oct. 27, 1924, [Convention date]. Crank-actuated pumps; stroke, varying; revolving-cylinder pumps; regulating delivery by opening suction and delivery valves.-A revolving-cylinder and reciprocating-piston pump comprises a casing T and a rotary disc K provided with a chamber a, b in which a hollow piston R is reciprocated by a second piston H reciprocating therein at right angles to the direction of reciprocation of the piston R. The piston H is rotatably mounted on an eccentric pin C carried by the casing cover V. The pumping spaces c, d inside the piston R communicate with the suction and delivery channels s, v in a ported cylinder S through ports x, y in the piston R and ports k<c>, k<d> in the rotor K. The pumping spaces a, b communicate with the channels s, v by ports k<a>, k<b> in the rotor K. The output of the pump may be varied by adjusting the pin C relatively to the plane between the channels s, v so that a proportion of each suction and delivery stroke of the pistons occurs while the respective pumping spaces are in communication with the delivery and suction sides of the pump. The output may be varied also by adjusting the pin C relatively to the axis of the rotor K thereby varying the length of stroke of the pistons. A pointer U connected to the pin C and moving over a scale S<t> indicates the output.
