Abstract
233,684. Marquer, A. M. May 8, 1924, [Convention date]. Loud-speakers; earpieces; magneto-microphonic relays.-An armature 1, Fig. 1, is balanced between two pairs of pole-pieces 2, 3, 4, 5, polepieces of similar polarity being located in corresponding positions on opposite sides of the armature, and all the pole-pieces being provided with coils 7, 8, 9, 10 wound in such a manner that when the flux is increased on one side of the armature it is reduced on the other side. The diaphragm can be integral with the armature or attached thereto. In a loud-speaker, as shown in Fig. 2, the magnet is adjustable relatively to the armature 1 by means of a screw 11 in conjunction with a spring abutment 14. The diaphragm 15 attached to the armature 1 is conical and is arranged close to a slotted member 17 which communicates with the sound outlet 16. A similar slotted member may be used with a flat diaphragm. The armature 1 instead of being attached to a sound diaphragm may be connected to a pair of microphones 18, 19, Fig. 6.
