Loud-speakers; magnetic instruments. - The air gap between an armature 2 and the actuating-magnet of a loud-speaker remains constant in length. The annular armature is mounted on a diaphragm 1 and suspended in an air gap between an annular pole-piece 3 and a magnetic core 4. Flat springs 23 accommodated in radial grooves 22 in the outer polepiece connect the armature to flanges 24 on an annular member 18 fastened to the outer pole-piece. An actuating winding 26 is provided in a slot between pole-pieces 5, 6, and the armature overlaps the pole-pieces forming a pair of long narrow working edges.
