Abstract
341,531. Loud-speakers. MAGNAVOX CO., 2725, East 14th Street, Oakland, California, U.S.A. Oct. 18, 1929, No. 31671. Convention date, March 27. [Class 40 (iv).] The reproducing cone 15 and actuating coil 20 therefor of a moving coil loud-speaker is made up as a removable unit with inner and outer polepieces 21, 13, respectively, the unit being secured upon the pot or magnetic frame 10 preferably by means of a screw 23 which projects into the central polepiece or core 11, with the polepiece 21 supplementary to and contacting with this polepiece or core. As shown, the coil 20 is centred between an annular outer polepiece 13, which closes the pot magnet 10, and an inner polepiece 21 which is held in a tight sliding fit in a member 22 of non-magnetic material secured to the polepiece 13. A support 17 secured to the polepiece 13 carries a flexible means 18 which extends to and supports the apex of the cone 15. In a slightly modified form, a spring or the like may be interposed between an outwardly projecting shoulder on the polepiece 21 and the member 22, and in a further construction the polepiece 13 is screw-threaded at its periphery to screw into the correspondingly former pot 10.
