Magnetic instruments. -A telephone receiver, applicable for use with either the hom or large diaphragm types of loud speaker has the end faces of its inclined polepieces P', P<2> arranged parallel to two faces of a triangular shaped armature R secured to the centre of the diaphragm D. The pole-pieces are secured to a magnet or magnets M mounted on a plate P adjustable by a screw S for regulating the distance between the pole-pieces and the armature.
