Abstract
312,603. Dynamic Unit Corporation of America, (Assignees of Abrahams, A. I., and Jonssens. E. J.). May 28, 1928, [Convention date]. Loud-speakers; magnetic instruments; diaphragms.-The diaphragm of a loud-speaker is of non-magnetic material and is mounted by impregnated material having little or no tendency to stretch. The diaphragm 22 is preferably made of an aluminium alloy and the moving coil C is wound on a projecting flange. The mount T may be of tracing cloth and is secured to a bevelled edge by serrations 21, Fig. 7. The diaphragm may be of any concave shape. A deflector is mounted in the throat 18 leading to the horn and has a convex portion 30 shaped like the diaphragm 22 and a portion 30<1> tapered to a cone of angle greater than the conical portion of the throat. The casing 1 Fig. 1, forms the outer pole of the field magnet, the inner pole 2 having a pole piece 5 secured by a screw 6. The leads to the coil are secured to terminals B.
