Loud-speakers; magnetic instruments.-The vibrating member of a loud-speaker consists of either the magnet 1 or the support 3 for the coil or coils 4, 4<1>. The vibrating member is arranged between, and operates, two soundemitting. surfaces 6, 6<1> consisting of plates of wood or other material. The vibrating member is connected to the sound-emitting surface by contact members 5, 5<1> having a small contact surface. According to modifications, the coils surround the magnet as at 7, 7<1>; the magnet is connected to the sound-emitting surfaces and a coil is carried by a support between the poles or by a polepiece attached to one of the poles.
