Abstract

246,574. Johnston, F. R. Oct. 29, 1924. Head sets; magnetic instruments; earpieces.- The magnet or magnets of a receiver form a framework which fits on or encircles the head of the wearer. As shown in Fig. 1, a ring-shaped magnet A supports coils b which act on an armature B formed with a flexible extension c which conveys the sound vibrations to the earpiece C, the extension acting as a diaphragm. The armature k, Fig. 4, may be formed as part of a lever i which is pivoted at j on the magnet A, passes freely into the hollow earpiece C, and is connected to the centre of the diaphragm c<1>. The earpiece C may be duplicated, the armature also encircling the head. The magnets A, Fig. 3, may be of skeleton form coupled by non- magnetic parts f.
