Abstract

292,739. Dicker, S. G. S., (Naamlooze Vennootschap Philips' Gloeilampenfabrieken). May 5, 1927. Magnetic instruments. -Relates to an electrodynamic magnet system for microphones, loudspeakers, &c. of the kind having an annular coil movably arranged in an annular magnetic field and consists in centring the coil by one or more annular or circular layers of felt which are secured to the poles or to parts of the magnet system which are immovably connected to the poles. In the construction shown, a coil 4, wound on a cardboard tube secured to a cone 5, is located in the annular gap between the poles 2, 3 of a permanent or electromagnet. The coil is centred by a felt layer 6 secured to the pole 2 and by an annular felt layer 7 secured to the pole 3 by an annular copper clamping piece 8 and screws 9. According to the Provisional Specification, a textile fabric such as velvet or flannel may be employed instead of felt.
