Magnetic instruments; loud-speakers; diaphragms.-A sound reproducing instrument comprises a hollow rigid diaphragm supported solely by a vibratory member. In the loud-speaking telephone shown, the diaphragm comprises two conical members 12, 13 of aluminium secured together at their bases, and is entirely supported on armature 5 of the receiving electromagnet 4. A housing 17, supported on posts 20 and carrying a horn 16, closely surrounds the diaphragm without touching it. The armature 5 is pivoted on a roller 6, and is attached to a flexible member 8 adjustable by a screw nut 11. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states that the device may be used as a transmitter. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
