Abstract
223,995. Bengough, G. D., and Stuart, J. M. Aug. 2, 1923. Ornamenting.-A coloured surface is produced on aluminium or an aluminium alloy by causing a coating previously produced by treatment as anode in an electrolytic bath to adsorb a dyestuff. The article is immersed as soon as possible after the anodic treatment in a 0.1 per cent aqueous solution of the dye until the required coloration is obtained. Anthracene or anthraquinone blue or alizarine red may be used. The anodic treatment described in Specification 223,994, [Class 41, Electrolysis], may be employed.
