Abstract

Aluminium powder, anodically coated with oxide, is caused to take up a dye suitable for the production of a lake, for example, by immersion in a dye-bath, or simultaneously with the anodic treatment as described in Specification 359,495, [Group XXXVI]. According to an example, aluminium powder is treated in an electrolyte containing alizarin red, glycerol, and glacial acetic acid. Specifications 223,995, [Class 41, Electrolysis], and 359,494, [Group XXXVI], also are referred to.
