Abstract

212,397. Primavesi, L. F., and Mauleverer, A. A. M. G. Feb. 24, 1923. Reversing-gearing suitable for motor-vehicles comprises idle, pinions d<2> carried by a disc d loose upon a driving-shaft a and meshing with a central pinion c secured to that shaft. The driven member b is cup-shaped enveloping the gearing and having internal teeth b<3> meshing with the pinions d<2>. It is loose on the shaft a and has sprocket teeth b<4> for transmitting the drive. Forward driving is effected when a dog-clutch sliding on a square part a' of the shaft a engages dogs b<2> on the member b, the parts rotating solid. Reversed driving at reduced speed is effected by holding the disc d by a brake e, the clutch being disengaged.
