Abstract

Spray carbitrettors comprise two concentric air tubes 2, 4 provided at their outlet ends with a valve 10, preferably of the iris-diaphragm type, so arranged as to be contiguous with the end of the inner tube and, during its opening movement, to uncover first the inner tube and then the space between the, tubes. The inlet ends may also be provided with a similar valve 12 which may be similarly arranged, or may be some distance from the end of the inner tube. which may be parallel throughout its length or of Venturi form. The valves are actuated independently by arms 14, 16. Fuel from a float chamber 22 is discharged through a nozzle 18.
