Securing toothed wheels on shafts.-In an electric starter in which a shaft h carries a driving- pinion g, movable radially into engagement with the engine fly-wheel k, and an intermediate pinion f driven by a pinion e on the shaft i of the start. ing-motor, a slip coupling is interposed between the pinions f, g. The slip coupling is housed in recesses in the pinion f and comprises discs l, m having projections in engagement respectively with grooves in the pinions g, f and held in contact with each other by a spring n which abuts against a member o. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states also that the slip coupling may be interposed between the rotor and the shah of the starting-motor, between the rotor shaft and the pinion thereon, between an intermediate pinion and a driving-pinion, or between the toothed rim and the body of the engine fly-wheel. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
