Abstract

6205. Berglund, O. R. P. March 11. Two-stroke-cycle engines.-In an engine with a pump chamber u placed at the back of the cylinder a, a tube c with an air-passage r, Fig. 3, passes from the end of the cylinder to a chamber e formed in the piston. Passages l communicate between the pump and the cylinder, the ignition devices of which are located in openings n, exhaust taking place through ports m. In a modified construction, the charge enters the cylinder through a lateral port and there is an open passage for air through the tube c. An inlet port 0 is uncovered by the piston near the end of its stroke The air-passages through the tube cool the piston and piston-rod.
