1695. Appleton, W. M. Jan. 21. Two-stroke cycle engines.-In a modification of the three-cylinder engine described in the parent Specification and in Specification 12,986/11, a cylindrical extension s on each piston controls exhaust ports f and inlet ports j located at opposite ends of the cylinders, and a cross-over passage r<3> is formed in a separate casting which is secured to an enlargement t containing the cross-over passages r<1>, r<2>. Charges are conveyed to the pump spaces from inlet ports e through an annulus n which communicates towards the end of the up stroke of the piston with a port j.
