Two-stroke-cycle engines.-In an engine using crank - chamber compression and having a fuel-spraying nozzle N disposed in a transfer passage G, H leading from the pump spaces to the working cylinders, the inlet ports L to the cylinders, and the outlet ports J leading from the crank chambers to the transfer passage, are staggered, the ports J being closed at the ends of the up-strokes by projections W on the pistons.
