Driving-arrangements for screw propellers; detachable propeller-installations.-A detachable propelling-unit carried upon a bed-plate mounted in the hull of the boat comprises a trough-shaped bed-plate i, carrying the motor a, a tail-shaft b, petrol tank d, and a silencer e, the motor being mounted on a forward flange and the stem tube k on an after flange. The bed-plate is held down by bolts in the slot l in the bottom of the boat. When the installation is removed, a hatch is put on the slot l. In a modification, the bed-plate is mounted on the bottom of the boat and the tailshaft passes through the stern post.
