Abstract
420,621. Ships. MOLLER, O. P., 31, Glendale Avenue, Edgware, Middlesex. Oct. 11, 1933, No. 28122. [Classes 113 (ii) and 114] Ships' hulls are formed with one or more submerged fore and aft conduits 11 open at the stem and stern and with a propeller or propellers 18 situated slightly within or astern the aft end of the conduit. The opening at the ends may be flared in the thwart ship and also in the vertical direction and these openings may be provided with grills to prevent access of rolled matter. Rudders may be provided fore and aft the conduits. The conduits may be divided by watertight doors 24-26, Fig. 8, and by way of pipe 27 water may be removed from the conduit for inspection purposes or compressed air supplied through the pipe 28 for the purpose of raising the hull.
