Abstract
162,790. Binnie, J. S. Feb. 4, 1920. Radial-flow (bladed) type; reversing.-Blades 4 are formed in a flange 1 of the rotor which closely surrounds a boss 8 of an end wall or cover 7. Pressure water is introduced to an annular passage 11 and is directed on to the rotor by nozzles 13, Fig. 5. The nozzles open into pockets 18, Fig. 5. Isolated guide-blades 40 are positioned opposite to the nozzles. The rotor may be T- shaped, opposite flanges of the rotor having differently-directed blades, the one set for direct and the other for reverse running. A pressurerelief valve is fitted to the exhaust chamber.
