146,007. Dresselhuys, H. H. Sept. 10, 1919. Reversing. - In a marine installation, the reversing - turbine is placed within and at the high-pressure end of the main or forwardrunning turbine rotor. In the example shown the forward turbine comprises an impulse high-pressure stage c and a reaction lowpressure stage d mounted on a drum carried bv webs b. Steam is led by a pipe e to a nozzle element k. The reversing-turbine f preferably comprises high-pressure impulse stages and lowpressure reaction stages. Steam is admitted to the reversing-turbine by way of a pipe i and an inserted nozzle element l. The admission chamber of the forward and exhaust chamber of the reversing elements are separated by a labyrinth packing s. The webs b are provided with perforations r for the passage of the element from the reversing turbine to the common exhaust port h. If desired, the forward and reversing turbines may be provided with separate casings.
