Abstract

27,853. Gardner, G. W. Dec. 3. Pumps; exhaust - silencers. - An undershot wheel 10 serves for silencing and also withdrawing the exhaust, further silencing being effected in a box 6 fitted with two baffles 31, 32 perforated at 33. A by-pass leads from a point in front of the wheel 10 to the centre of the wheel chamber, a blade 23 for guiding the gases into the by-pass being provided at the inlet end of the same.
