Abstract
357,022. Steam &c. turbines. STRAZZULLA, S., 325, Via Nino Bixio, Genoa, Italy. Nov. 29, 1930, No. 36047. [Class 110 (iii).] In a reversible screw motor the rotor 1 has helicoidal vanes 4 and the fluid inlet is provided with a plate 15 having perforations in opposite quadrants. At the exhaust end a similar perforated plate 18, Fig. 6, is provided, and one quadrant 10<1> is isolated by walls 20, 21. For normal working, steam is admitted to the chamber 9 and exhausts into the chamber 10. For reverse working the perforations in the plate 18 are closed by a segmental plate 23 and steam is admitted to the blind quadrant 10<1> by a connection 22. While running in reverse the exhaust is led past a valve 33 to the normal exhaust chamber 10.
