For tidal waters, the well is disposed in a barrage A with double inlet and outlet channels closed and opened alternately by gates J, K to make the water flow through the turbine I always in the same. direction whether the high level is on one side or the other of the. barrage. The turbine may be connected by shafting M to a dynamo N above the well. The well may be closed by a lid P, Fig. 3.
