Abstract

283,607. Defour, A. Aug. 12, 1926. Tidal energy, utilizing.-A tidal power plant, which may be similar to one form described in Specification 177,576, is operated by permitting water to flow from the sea to one basin, and at a later period from the basin to the sea, and by permitting at intervening periods flow from a second basin to the sea, all these flows being utilized for the development of power. Other unutilized flows are permitted for adjusting the levels in the basins. The tidal level is indicated by the line ABCD, the levels of the first basin by EFGHIJK, and the levels of the second basin by LMBNOPQ.
