[Class 110 (iii).] A hydraulic reaction turbine having an inlet scroll case ] is controlled by a device which influences not only the entering water but also the water turning in the scroll. As shown in the Figure, the device is formed as a curved plate 7 pivoted at 8. The pivot may be replaced by a flexible plate. The form and movement of the device 7 may be modified, and it may be replaced by a pivoted vane which is passed by water on both sides.
