Floors of reinforced-concrete girders side by side. - Hollow floors formed of reinforced-concrete beams laid side by side are stiffened transversely by forming the beams with pairs of lugs a at intervals, openings c in the upper flanges, and openings b in the webs, and pouring grouting in the spaces between each pair of lugs to form transverse beams. Rods d are inserted through the openings b to reinforce the transverse beams and tie the main beams together.
