117,575. Rings, F. C. C. Jan. 29, 1918. Concrete ships and vessels. - Reinforced concrete ships and pontoons are built up of pre-cast and matured flanged U-shaped transverse sections which are assembled and bolted through the fianges. The joints are made by layers a of bitumen, tarred felt, &c. and a grouting c of cement mortar. Longitudinal beams are formed by flanges d cast with slots e in which flat or round steel bars f are laid and grouted in.
