The top or floor portion is formed with recesses i to key the flooring material, and the lower or ceiling portion is suspended by sloping sides; the space between the joists and blocks is filled by means of blocks h or by concrete cast in situ. The blocks may be reinforced by bars m, and the hollows may be used for heating purposes.
