Joist floors with slab filling; reinforced-concrete beams.-Hollow concrete floor-beams are cast to the form shown in Fig. 3, the interior being of oval shape, and the exterior having shoulders e, f, sloping sides above the shoulders e, and a flat top and bottom face in each of which a nailing-board l is embedded. Fig. 1 shows a floor formed of these beams and hollow blocks g, over which floor boards are laid. Instead of the blocks g, flat slabs and a fire-proof filling may be used.
