Abstract

Flooring and ceiling blocks.-In a floor of the type comprising beams formed of blocks and laid side by side with plain or reinforced concrete between the beams, the blocks are made of approximately inverted V or arched cross-section, as shown in Figs. 2 and 4. Bars or angle-irons B are cemented in grooves to connect the blocks and so form beams, and the faces of the blocks are formed with dovetailed grooves to key the concrete filling. Fig. 6 shows a modification in which the beams are separated by shallow tiles C.
