Abstract

Reinforced - concrete floors. - A reinforcedconcrete floor cast in situ and carried by columns without intermediate beams consists of solid areas or panels 7 over the column capitals and shallow recessed and ribbed areas 11 integral with and between the panels 7. Reinforcing bars 17, 19 extend through the ribs or walls of the recesses and the upper zones of the panels 7. The recesses are formed by means of flanged and domed moulds 25, Fig. 4, supported by temporary staging 33, 35, and posts. The panels 7 are cast by means of a mould 39 divided centrally to embrace the column capital.
