Tunnels.-Tunnels are formed by placing side by side beams or slabs A consisting of rows of bricks or blocks grooved on their undersides to receive connecting reinforcing bars which are shaped to the required curve. The bricks or blocks are hollow or perforated and may vary in size to avoid straight joints in the slabs. The structures may be strengthened by placing re inforced concrete or other beams B between the slabs and by increasing the number of grooves and bars.
