Abstract

152,755. Kay, J. July 18, 1919. Sliding bolts.-In a sash-fastener of the kind in which a spring-influenced bolt, mounted in a bracket secured to one sash, is provided with an end-piece adapted to engage with a catch bracket attached to the other sash, the bracket b is formed with a single guide, and the spring e is arranged to react between the bracket b and the knob a<1> of the bolt a. To lock the sashes, the bolt a is pressed in against its spring e until the bar a<2> projects beyond the catch f, when it is turned to bring the bar a<2> into line with the recess f<1> in the catch, so that, on the bolt being released, the bar is withdrawn by the spring into the recess f<1>. The bar a<2> may be recessed on its inner engaging face so that it interlocks with the catch f in both the vertical and horizontal directions.
