Abstract

145,374. Ellis, G. B., (Foundation Oven Corporation). Jan. 30, 1920. Valves, reversing and like.-In a coke oven and like reversing-valve of a kind somewhat similar to that covered by Specification 145,372, the casing is divided by a partition 10 with two chambers connected respectively to the regenerator by passages 4 and 3 of different cross-section, and a hollow cylindrical valve axially movable across the chambers connects one or the other through its open end and side openings 15 with the flue 2. The flue 2 serves alternately for air supply and burnt gas exhaust and is connected with the smaller passage 3 when on air and with the larger passage 4 when on burnt gas. The passages 3 and 4 have dampers 6 and 8 respectively.
